Traditionally, the funeral arrangement carried out will be a complete funeral service. This includes a visitation, or a family and/or public viewing of the deceased. A service will then follow either in a church or at the funeral home. This would be followed by the burial of the casketed remains, either earth or above ground. Cemeteries generally require that a grave liner (vault) be used to encase the casket, when earth buried. These liners are constructed of concrete or steel and are designed to hold the weight of the earth. A sealed vault may also be used.
